The Walt Disney Company, Grammarly and Intuit Mailchimp are 2025 Digiday Technology Awards winners

This year’s Digiday Technology Awards celebrate companies that are embracing AI and automation tools to enhance personalized experiences, enable precise targeting and drive performance across platforms and channels. In the new Best Video Advertising Platform category, Disney Advertising is recognized for leading advertising sales and integrated marketing for The Walt Disney Company’s expansive entertainment and sports portfolio. In October 2024, Disney reached a major milestone by consolidating Hulu and Disney+ into one ad platform, the Disney Ad Server, which now powers over 200 billion impressions annually and contributes 77% of total ad revenue. The company also drove innovation with tools like Disney eXperience Composer, which doubled engagement on Disney+ interactive formats, Magic Words for contextual keyword targeting and YODA for yield optimization. These advancements have delivered measurable impact for advertisers, strengthened Disney’s leadership in the market and underscored its commitment to pairing cutting-edge technology with premium storytelling to shape the future of video advertising.

Grammarly claimed the winner’s spot in the Best Customer Data Platform after working with Hightouch. For Grammarly, a widely used AI writing assistant serving over 40 million people and 50,000 organizations, personalized engagement is critical to driving user retention and growth. Grammarly leveraged Hightouch’s composable CDP with Databricks to unify and activate customer and conversion data across both paid media and lifecycle channels. By underpinning the company’s entire marketing funnel, Hightouch has enabled Grammarly to scale personalization, enhance efficiency and drive measurable gains, reinforcing the value of integrated, data-driven marketing in competitive digital environments.

In the Best Personalization & A/B Testing Platform category, Intuit Mailchimp earned the win. Built for growing and mid-sized businesses, the platform enables personalized outreach through tools like segmentation, send time optimization, SMS integration and automated workflows. For CHANI, a platform dedicated to connecting ancient astrology with modern life through personalized guidance and curated products, Mailchimp’s capabilities offered a way to merge community connection with targeted digital engagement, fostering self-discovery and customer loyalty. By using Mailchimp’s suite of tools, CHANI achieved high open rates and delivered relevant, timely messaging to distinct audience segments, capturing valuable customer data and driving conversions.

Among all channels considered in Digiday’s 2025 CMO Strategies series, social media had the highest usage rate for the third year in a row, with 92% of the more than 190 marketer professionals who responded to our Digiday+ Research survey saying their company uses social media for marketing. That is down 5 percentage points from the percentage of respondents who said their company used social media for marketing last year and the year before — 97% respectively for 2024 and 2023.
