Making your OWN product.
I have marketed other people’s products for years as an affiliate. I speak at events for Search Engine Workshops, webinars and mentor affiliate marketers. The one thing everyone always asks me is “Do you have a product of your own?- we would love to promote it”. The fact is I really don’t have my own product but I have several IDEAS for one.
Over the past few weeks I have been watching with interest the buzz about Launch Tree – a Instant Product Development Virtual Workshop. Timing is everything!
I already subscribe to PPC Classroom, which is another Lurn product. I was impressed with the strength and amount of real information on PPC campaigns I could put into practical and profitable use right away. Once I got into the Launch Tree I noticed some of the content is very basic- perfect for newbies. Some experienced marketers think the basic stuff is below them. I beg to differ. A solid training foundation is critical. Take the time to read the basic information, you will lean something new even if you have 17 years in online/affiliate marketing experience like I do.
As I looked through the advanced modules in the workshop the information was much more interesting and meaty, which is what I expect from Anik Singal and Mike Filsaime. I like to go through and take the tests first.( yes there are tests) It is always humbling and fun to see that “You don’t know what you DON’T know”.
An investment of $77 to learn how to do what I have always wanted to do for myself is a no brainer. I have signed up for Launch Tree and would recommend the Instant Product Development Virtual Workshop to you even if developing your own product is not your goal. The workshop will give you a totally new insight on some of the products you are already promoting. I know it has for me.
What should I sell? How can I find a niche?
People always ask what should they sell as an affiliate? How to I get traffic? Which niches will I be successful at? Here is an excerpt from the GooBert report from Michael Campbell that answers those questions and more.
“FINDING YOUR NICHE
Ideally, it should something you know a lot about. Something that comes easily to you. Something you’re
familiar with. Something you do or use every day. It could be your cell phone, your car, your hobby or something work related. It could be your area of expertise, degree or study.
If you already know what you want sell, go ahead and jump to the next chapter. But if you’re stuck,
and don’t know what to sell, we’ll do a little discovery process to tap your inner desires and passion.
Let me ask you a question.
What do you love to do?
That is the secret question where opportunities lay. It’s so simple that its constantly overlooked. But
seriously, what do you spend your time doing?
Some people love their work. For them, its easy to write about their experiences, training and
expertise. For others work is just a job. If you’re in that category, look to your hobbies, or things
that you enjoy doing.
I’ve done this discovery process with hundreds of people. Even those who claim they’re dumb as a
stump and don’t know anything. Everyone has something that they get comments on.
People notice you and tell you that you’re good at it, or know a lot about it, whatever that “IT” is
for you.”
GooBert is the fastest way to get traffic and start generating revenue from affiliate programs.
There’s nothing risky about it. It’s easy to do and it doesn’t involve PPC (pay per click) advertising
or any additional expenses.
All you need is access to the internet, a domain name, basic hosting and a Wordpress blog. That’s
all you need and it works like magic.
It takes about 30 minutes a day, but you can spend more time on it if you like. It’s up to you. Remember,
the harder you work, the luckier you’ll get. So why not turn on the TV a half hour later?
Wouldn’t you rather be building your future instead?

Ping Plug in
How often is your WordPress blog pinging the services? Could you be guilty of Ping Spamming and not even know it?? You betcha.
If you are using WordPress as the core part of your affiliate marketing site you need to know that WordPress by default not only pings when you post a new item but it also pings when you update or edit a post. So if you proofread your posts and find errors or have to change out links etc WordPress pings every time you save the post. This has still not been fixed as of WordPress 2.3
To help fix this several plug-ins were created but like many open source projects people get busy and the plug-in I was using Smart Update Pinger is not working as of WordPress 2.1 or higher. I have found one that is working and is free. Ping Optimizer
Ping Optimizer will only ping when you post a new item. No more unnecessary and unwanted pings when you edit your posts.
WordPress Plugin for Affiliate Marketing
MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate-Wordpress Plugin that literally turns content into keyword money generators:
It can convert any keyword in your blog posts/comments into affiliate link. It’s also a full fledge
affiliate link tracking and management system.
I like this approach because it is not another cookie cutter template. It helps you maximize the value of your WordPress site and all the work you put in creating unique content.
I currently have this in testing:
So far on an established blog that does $3.00 per day we are up to $7.00 per day in earnings. So 7×30= $210. Well what if we have 5 blogs 5×210 $1050.00. Food for thought.
The real had part is content, but it does not have to be. Write about things you have an interest in. Don’t worry that “someone already did that”. Your own unique perspective or “voice” is what makes your content unique. Let MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate take care of the linking part.
